Robert is recognized for building and leading the nonprofit sector’s first shared service organization dedicated to provide donations processing, gift acknowledgement, accounts payable, order fulfillment, and purchasing services to the divisions and national office of the American Cancer Society.
In addition to leading an award winning service organization, Robert has a successful track record of creating new revenue streams and cost savings. During his 16 years with the ACS he held numerous leadership positions including senior management team member and National Vice President.

- Implemented new processes and technology that reduced operating costs by $30.7 million over a four year period.
- Raised $60 million in over a five year period.
- Developed the strategy and plan to restructure the income development activities of merging divisions resulting in a $560,000 (12%) annual revenue increase.
Strategic Sourcing and Purchasing
- Created savings of $34.3 million on a purchasing volume of $189 million.
Strategy Development and Organizational Planning
- Developed the vision, strategy and implementation plan for a new Business Unit generating $180 million in annual income.
Mergers and Consolidations
- Restructured the operations of 17 merging divisions and reduced total operating expenses $25 million annually.
- Processed more than 36.8 million charitable gift transactions totaling $3.4 billion.
- Managed donations processing for over 6,000 special event locations throughout the U.S with a 99.94 accuracy processing rate.
Accounts Payable Processing
- Completed 3.37 million payables transactions totaling $2.9 billion.
- Moved 60% of all transactions to purchasing cards and earned more than $4 million in rebates.
